OGC Doug Graham Attorney

Professional Summary

Doug Graham brings more than 30 years of experience advising businesses on the legal and commercial issues that drive growth, operations, and strategic decision-making. His career spans public companies, private equity-backed businesses, and early-stage ventures, giving him a practical perspective on the challenges organizations face at every stage of growth.

Doug counsels clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to private equity–backed ventures on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, including commercial agreements, licensing and IP portfolio management, employment and labor, real estate, private equity and financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. Known for his pragmatic approach, Doug works closely with executive teams to develop legal strategies that not only mitigate risk and cost but also create measurable value.

Since joining OGC in 2025, Doug has been selected to provide ongoing general counsel services to two companies following the departures of their prior lawyers, with an emphasis on a seamless transition without greater costs or reduced responsiveness. Neither company intends to replace Doug with a full-time solution.

Prior to joining OGC, Doug served as General Counsel for LanzaJet, Inc., an early-stage renewable fuels company; Intren, a family-owned, venture-backed infrastructure services company; and Oil-Dri Corporation of America, a publicly traded specialty materials and consumer products company. Across these roles, he advised boards and executive leadership on corporate governance, strategic transactions, financing, commercial operations, regulatory matters, and day-to-day business issues.

Earlier in his career, Doug held senior legal roles with Exelon Corporation, Tribune Company, and United Airlines, giving him broad experience supporting organizations across the energy, media, and transportation sectors. He began his legal career in private practice at Jenner & Block in Chicago.

Doug earned dual B.A. degrees in Economics  and History from the University of Michigan, and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of the Illinois Bar and was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar when he represented a pro bono client before the Court.

Outside of work, Doug serves as Treasurer and Board Member of the Center for Disability and Elder Law, and Board member of the Respiratory Health Association. He previously served in leadership roles for a non-profit trade association as well. A lifelong advocate for youth, public health, environmental sustainability, and wildlife preservation — passions that trace back to his Boy Scout days —Doug brings the same commitment to service outside the office as he does in his legal practice. An Illinois native and devoted Chicago and Michigan sports fan, Doug has recently expanded his loyalties to teams in Colorado, New York, Massachusetts, and London, where his children now live.
