History
OGC was founded in 2002 by Jonathan Levitt and Bill Stone, pioneers of the modern general counsel model. Their vision was simple but radical: create a law firm that combines the sophistication of Big Law with the practicality and efficiency of in-house counsel.
Today, that same vision guides a national team of experienced attorneys helping companies – from startups to global enterprises – navigate complex challenges and move forward with clarity and confidence.
Mission
OGC’s mission is to redefine what business clients expect from their lawyers. We deliver partner-level counsel, through a team of former GCs, senior in-house attorneys, and subject-matter experts who know how to balance legal precision with business reality.
By recruiting top talent, fostering a collaborative culture, and providing best-in-class operational support, we stay focused on what matters most: serving as trusted partners to our clients in every challenge and opportunity.
Ethos
At OGC, our ethos is simple: we are Easy To Do Business With (ETDBW) — and we deliver measurable value to our clients.
We strive to make each engagement easier—through flexible arrangements and practical advice that moves the business forward. Our goal isn’t to just be responsive, it’s to be additive.
Guiding OGC Forward
OGC’s leadership team continues to shape the firm with the same innovative spirit that defined our founding — staying true to our model built on practical, business-first counsel while evolving to meet the needs of today’s marketplace.

The Engine Behind OGC
With expertise spanning finance, business development, client success, marketing, and administration, our business operations leaders keep OGC running strong — allowing attorneys to focus where it counts: on our clients.
What Our Clients Say
“Our OGC employment attorney is hands down the best attorney I’ve ever worked with — on any legal matter. In just four years, we’ve grown from a few employees to more than 4,000 across 45 states, and that growth has brought incredible complexity. Like a true business partner, she instinctively starts with our business needs first and then builds the legal framework to get it done. She’s also incredibly responsive and meticulous. Plus, OGC offers access to other subject matter experts whenever we need it — and at tremendous value. It’s money well spent.”
“Our OGC is an invaluable resource to our Legal team here at BeyondTrust. I personally have had the pleasure of working with her on several projects and she consistently brings to bear her years of technology and privacy experience to help us solution our most complicated matters. She is a true professional with a pragmatic approach to getting business done and I highly recommend her as a key “go-to” resource to round out any legal, compliance, and risk efforts companies face today.”
“As a fast-growing company in the data privacy and security space, building trust with our customers is at the heart of our business model. Our OGC gets this — and it shows in the quality of advice we receive on every matter. He is more than just our outside counsel; he is fully invested in our success, working closely with key stakeholders on day-to-day operations and long-term strategy, including most recently helping us revise our contracting approach to reduce friction with fewer redlines and turns of the agreement. This has translated into real dollars as we are able to more quickly onboard customers while promoting even greater trust with our customers. We trust him implicitly to help us manage risk, protect our assets, and move the business forward with confidence.”
“As an EdTech company managing student data across 50+ countries, data privacy compliance is absolutely critical. The complexity of navigating hundreds of U.S. federal, state, and industry-specific privacy laws—on top of international regulations—required expertise we didn’t have in-house. We needed a privacy pilot to guide us, and that’s exactly what we found in our OGC, who now serves as both our privacy counsel and our Data Protection Officer. His experience has been a game-changer, giving us the confidence and structure to scale compliantly. Without a doubt, one of the smartest investments we’ve made!”
