Anita serves primarily as outside general counsel or interim general counsel for her clients. She also mentors in-house legal teams on substantive legal issues, legal operations and organizational design, and management of outside counsel relationships.
Prior to joining Outside GC, Anita led the corporate services legal team at The Nature Conservancy, a global non-profit organization operating in more than 40 countries with 20 related entities. Over the course of a decade, Anita advised on a wide range of legal and operational matters — from technology and cross border transactions to corporate governance, finance, employment, marketing, and government relations.
Previously, Anita held roles in private practice, government service, and in-house legal departments, including serving as General Counsel of ChildFund International, Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for Associated Builders and Contractors, and Assistant General Counsel at the American Cancer Society. These experiences gave Anita a unique perspective on the governance, operational, and stakeholder challenges organizations face as they grow and navigate change.
Anita earned her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law, where she was also a class speaker at commencement and the chair of Moot Court, and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Central Florida.
