Before joining Outside GC, Mabell held legal leadership roles in Silicon Valley for over 25 years. As General Counsel of Singularity University, a global company seeking to leverage technology in order to help solve the world’s biggest challenges, Mabell advised the company’s Board and executives on all day-to-day legal matters and strategic initiatives.
Previously, Mabell served as Associate General Counsel at Apple where she was the primary legal advisor for Worldwide Sales and Distribution, Software Division, and the Law, Government and Security function. In this role, Mabell advised Apple’s C-level executives and managed several key initiatives, including the global launch of new products, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, technology licensing and complex business transactions. And prior to Apple, Mabell was a legal executive at Sun Microsystems where she oversaw legal support for sales, marketing, distribution, technology licensing and international activities.
Mabell started her legal career at the law firm of McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen as an international business and technology lawyer. She is a member of the California State Bar. Mabell serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations. Her passions include supporting educational access for diverse students, finding solutions for homelessness and hunger, and protecting the Earth’s wildlife and resources. She is a California native and currently splits her time between Northern and Southern California. She is a certified travel buff, scuba diver and college football booster.
