Jessica Davis advises companies on intellectual property, technology, and commercial matters, combining deep litigation experience with practical, business-focused counsel from a litigator’s perspective. She works closely with in-house legal and business teams on technology transactions, licensing arrangements, and commercial agreements, including the underlying questions concerning who owns what, what’s protectable, and what a company is actually free to build and release, especially as her clients incorporate AI into their products and services.

When disputes arise, including claims involving infringement, unfair competition, and breaches of contractual obligations, Jessica draws on her experience managing complex litigation to assess exposure, develop effective strategies, and pursue pragmatic resolutions.

Jessica’s clients at Outside GC include Alder, Altoida, Axcel Learning, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, the Gardner School, Nara Organics, Pet Honesty, Storyblocks, and Sunnyside. She also regularly supports dozens of other firm clients when they face lawsuits and business disputes, advising on strategy and negotiating resolutions that protect their commercial objectives.

Prior to joining Outside GC, Jessica managed complex patent litigation matters through trial and appeal at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where she represented clients in high-stakes disputes involving innovative technologies.

In addition to her legal practice, Jessica serves as a senior legal editor at Thomson Reuters, where she develops practical guidance materials, legal updates, and know-how resources for attorneys and legal departments. This work keeps her closely connected to emerging legal developments and evolving market practices across intellectual property, technology, and commercial law.

Jessica earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where she was a James Kent Scholar, and received an A.B. in Physics from Princeton University.

Outside of her practice, Jessica enjoys discovering new destinations and dining experiences, with a particular appreciation for inventive tasting menus and the craftsmanship behind them. She is an avid reader of psychological suspense and domestic thrillers, especially drawn to unreliable narrators and twists, and appreciates the challenge of piecing together the clues before the final reveal. Jessica maintains an active fitness routine and can often be found trying a new class or returning to favorites such as tabata and barre classes.
