Lori is an experienced commercial law and privacy attorney with over 25 years of experience. She enjoys working with clients to advance their enterprises and works collaboratively to come up with solutions to business and legal issues. Her practice has concentrated on advising new, emerging, and established technology, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and media companies, although she has represented clients across a wide range of industries. Lori also has broad experience counseling SaaS and IaaS providers.

Before Outside GC, Lori most recently served as Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs at FanDragon Technologies, a startup providing secure delivery of tickets to mobile wallets using blockchain technology. At FanDragon, she advised the senior team, drafted, reviewed, and negotiated contracts on behalf of the sales team, prepared privacy policies, terms of use, and data protection agreements, ensured IP protection, and reviewed product features for compliance with applicable laws, including U.S. and European privacy laws.

Prior to FanDragon, Lori represented clients both in the U.S. and abroad, including as outsourced general counsel and legal consultant for established companies such as Hulu, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Cornerstone OnDemand, Supfina Machines, Verizon Digital Media Services, and Allergan, as well as for startups and companies at various stages of growth.

Lori has lived and worked abroad on three continents, giving her an appreciation of and sensitivity to international cultural and legal issues. In Ireland, she served as Chief Legal Officer to an Irish streaming media company. In England, she worked with an innovative law firm advising American technology companies seeking to enter the European market.

Lori is particularly interested in privacy law and holds the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) designations in U.S. and European privacy law – CIPP/US and CIPP/E. Lori is also an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM). She is a graduate of UCLA Law School (J.D.) and the University of California, Berkeley (B.A., Political Science, with honors), and earned an LL.M. from University College London, where she was a Bentham Scholar.

Lori speaks French fluently and Spanish passably. She currently lives in California, where she and her family enjoy bike riding, skiing, cooking, and travel. Lori also loves fly fishing (catch and release).
